Google chairman Eric Schmidt recently praised South Korea’s advances in internet industry meanwhile he pushed the country to ease regulations on Internet use.

Schmidt addressed publicly that – It’s my view, and I think Google’s view, that regulations on the Internet in Korea could be more open and more modern. Obviously Google is urging South Korea to examine “more liberal policies” of the other countries.

South Korea released a law which required internet users to post their real names, meanwhile it is one of the most wired nations all over the world with the highest percentage of broadband access and the highest download speed.

In 2010 Google shut down Android Games category for South Korean Android phone users to bypass an obligation which requires mobile games to be rated before their delivery.

Schmidt met President Lee Myung-Bak and the head of South Korea’s telecoms official departments. He has also met management teams from Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, KT Corp and SK Telecom. Schmidt said that agreement had been reached between Google and Korean government to resume Android Games category for local Android Phone users and Android Game developers.
